Football Festival Fun!!

The mighty GGS team post-tournament in Dingwall!

Last month, a few pupils from GGS attended a Football Festival at the Highland Football Academy up in Dingwall. The pupils were coached by Ross County Community Coaches and played with pupils from schools all across the Highlands. Jack [S4] was fantastic in goals, saving his team from losing a goal on countless occasions! Rona [S6] was a tough-tackling defender, who broke up play and passed the ball onto team-mates accurately. Calum [S5] was flying all over the pitch and playing some great football throughout the games. Scott [S4] was working hard and scoring some brilliant goals too. Charlie [S2] was also on the scoresheet a lot, scoring 3 hat-tricks throughout the day!

After their successful participation in the Festival, the pupils were given the opportunity to attend a Ross County SPFL match. Despite the frost, Charlie, Rona and Scott went to the Ross County v Kilmarnock match on Tuesday 12th December in Dingwall.  Warmed by the delicious hot chocolate and tasty pies, the pupils saw County take a 2 goal lead into half-time before being pegged back by Killie in the second half, with a full-time result of 2-2.

The pupils and staff would like to thank Ross County for hosting the Football Festival and also the tickets for the match!
