We’re keen to promote three FREE week-long residential courses running in Paisley this summer, organised and funded by the National Cyber Security Centre as part of their CyberFirst programme.
Young people can learn cyber security skills and get an insight into cyber security careers. Completion of the courses, which are residential, will earn participants Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework credit points (including a certificate), and the learning can count in part towards completion of the SQA National Progression Awards at SCQF levels 4, 5 and 6.
The three courses are:
- CyberFirst Defenders (aimed at 14 & 15 year olds – SCQF level 4): https://www.smallpeicetrust.org.uk/courses/cyberfirst-defenders-paisley/
- CyberFirst Futures (aimed at 15 & 16 year olds – SCQF level 5): https://www.smallpeicetrust.org.uk/courses/cyberfirst-futures-paisley/
- CyberFirst Advanced (aimed at 16 & 17 year olds – SCQF level 6): https://www.smallpeicetrust.org.uk/courses/cyberfirst-advanced-paisley/
All the information is in the links provided.
Several Grantown pupils have attended these courses and had a lot of fun. The courses are free – the government wants to train a new generation of cyber security experts with the skills to counter current and future cyber threats. So basically this is free spy training…..! Also very good training for in-demand commercial skills that lead to very well-paid jobs.
If interested you need to apply direct via the links provided – don’t delay as they fill up super fast.
