Over the last two years we have been building links with Kepler-Gymnasium (High School) in Ulm in Germany. The town is larger than Grantown-on-Spey but, like us, is surrounded by forests and hills. This school is located between Stuttgart and Munich and shares many of the same values as Grantown in terms of being a centre of excellence for music and environmental awareness.
We have been working towards pupil exchanges and the first exchange will be taking place between Monday 2 March and Friday 6 March 2020 when 20, S3 pupils will be visiting Grantown Grammar.
We are looking for families to host our visitors between the end of school and approximately 9pm each day, when they will return to their accommodation at Ardenbeg Bunk House. The host family will be responsible for providing dinner and entertainment. The German pupils will also shadow the host family pupils during lessons and all the pupils will go on a boat trip on Loch Ness to Urquhart Castle during the week.
This is currently offered to pupils in S3 as plans are underway for the return to Ulm in Germany, but if you are interested in hosting a German pupil, please return the attached form to Mrs Mackintosh in Languages by Wednesday 15 January.
