Outdoor Learning

Mr Kenny McGougan
Mr Jaz Hepburn
Regularly assisted by other teachers, whenever they are allowed to escape their classroom.

There is a very active Outdoor Learning programme at Grantown Grammar School.  The programme of activities planned, can change due to the weather, transport and resources and we will keep students updated and also here on the school website and Facebook pages.

S1’s and 2’s participate in the John Muir Award,  learning more about the beautiful area we live in, alongside the ethos of the award, to Explore, Discover, Conserve and Share.

The full school programme of activity, kit lists and timetables is available on the JMA@GGS website below

At the start of the school year, we collect a generic permission form for all pupils to attend off site activities.  If you did not complete one or your contact details have changed, please inform the office so we have the most up to date information.
Letter to parents 05/06/19 – Permission to attend out of school activity

Your help and support is fundamental to ensure we can continue to keep Outdoor Learning at the heart of the School and local community, without this assistance we wouldn’t be able to run all these adventures.
Letter to parents 21/08/18 – Donations

Each Winter we offer pupils the opportunity to benefit from ski coaching with Cairngorm Ski Club.  In partnership with BASI, Wilderness Scotland, Natural Retreats and Cairngorm Ski Club on a Tuesday afternoon, between January and April 2019.

A letter will go out, nearer the time to confirm arrangements for 2020.
