Grantown Grammar School pupils have amazing opportunities to visit many exciting and interesting places. All of the residential trips, provide valuable social, cultural, sporting and educational experiences.
Parents, carers, friends and family are openly invited to attend the Music and Drama performances held in the school throughout the year. They showcase the incredible talent of our pupils and tickets are available through pupils or from the school office.

Snowsports Trip – Alp d’Huez, France
4 – 11 January 2020
Available to pupils currently in S1-S5, wishing to improve their ability to ski or board in an alpine resort. Whether they are a beginner or a more advanced skier. This trip is available for all no matter what level they are. Grantown Grammar will be joining with Kingussie High School for this amazing experience of a trip away from home with friends, learning and speaking a new language, and taking in the French culture, while enjoying the challenge of tackling new and exciting slopes in the French Alps.
A letter with a payment plan has been sent home to those pupils attending this trip – 14/02/19
For your information they are; £200 on 27 Feb; 28 Mar; 30 May; 27 Jun; 26 Sep and then £90 on 26 Sep, with the remainder due 31 Oct 2019.
An information evening for Parents’ and Carers’ will be held at 7.00pm on Wednesday 20 November 2019.
Battlefield & Themepark Trip – Belgium & France
15 – 20 February 2020
An interesting, thought provoking, but also fun six day trip to Belgium and France to visit various World War One sites and Disneyland Paris.
There are 40 pupil places available and open to pupils currently in S3-5. Mr Abenheimer is organising this trip.
German Exchange Trip – Grantown-on-Spey
2 -6 March 2020
Pupils from Kepler-Gymnasium (High School) in Ulm, Germany will be coming to experience our Scottish culture and hospitality. Ulm is larger than Grantown-on-Spey but, like us, is surrounded by forests and hills. This school is located between Stuttgart and Munich and shares many of the same values as Grantown in terms of being a centre of excellence for music and environmental awareness. The first exchange will be taking place between Monday 2 March and Friday 6 March 2020 when 20, S3 pupils will be visiting Grantown Grammar.
The pupils will be staying at Ardenbeg Bunk House on Grant Road and will have lunch at GGS. We are looking for families to host the pupils between the end of school and approximately 9pm when they will return to the Bunk House. The host family will be responsible for providing dinner and entertainment. The German pupils will also shadow the host family pupils during lessons and all the pupils will go on a boat trip on Loch Ness to Urquhart Castle.
The proposed itinerary is as follows:
Monday 2 March – German pupils arrive. Evening dinner with host family, overnight Bunk House.
Tuesday 3 March – Breakfast Bunk House, morning lessons shadowing host pupil, afternoon Outdoor Education. Evening dinner with host family, overnight Bunk House
Wednesday 4 March – Breakfast Bunk House, day trip on Jacobite Cruise on Loch Ness to Urquhart Castle, German and host pupils, dinner with host family, overnight Bunk House
Thursday 5 March – Breakfast Bunk House, morning: lessons shadowing host pupil, afternoon Grantown Museum and Inverallan Church, evening dinner with host family, Ceilidh/Disco in school,
Friday 6 March – Breakfast Bunk House, German pupils leave
Performing Arts Trip – New York, America
10 – 16 October 2020
A seven day “trip of a lifetime” to New York. The trip will take place during the October holiday and includes;

The trip is available to pupils in S1-4 and places are limited. To avoid disappointment, please ensure that your deposit of £150 is returned by Wednesday 20 March 2019 to Mrs Shearon or the school office. If there are more pupils than places, names will be drawn from a hat.
